Money monetizes once.
But skills & relationships monetize forever.

👇
1. Skills
I went to college to get a degree.
Not to learn skills.
Big mistake.
A degree got me a job.
But skills made me an entrepreneur.
My favorite skill?
Marketing.
The ability to become known.
If nobody knows you exist.
How can they possibly work with you?
Stop hiding.
Tell your story.
2. Relationships
When I was in graduate school, I fell into a depression.
I isolated myself to focus on my studies.
Big mistake.
Isolation got me an “A” in class.
But it cost me my happiness.
The irony?
The right relationships facilitate growth.
They don’t diminish it.
A lesson from my good friend Chris Bates (opens in a new tab).
”The right relationships are 1+1=4”
The key word is the “right” relationships.
Know who you serve… and who you don’t serve.
3. Marketing
I went to a BPN (opens in a new tab) ambassador event last week.
BPN is a fitness supplement line.
They hosted an open gym workout.
It wasn’t a workout or a pitch to sell supplements.
It was an opportunity to build skills & relationships.
It reminded me of a very important marketing principle.
People don’t buy goods and services.
They buy growth & community.
What are you doing to help your customers grow?
What are you doing to help your customers connect?
Take home point…
- Build the skill of becoming known.
- The right relationships are 1+1=4.
- People buy growth & community.
My interview with Faraz Khan (opens in a new tab) inspired this email.
Next week, you’ll learn how stem cell scientist became an entrepreneur.
